Today I wanted to share an infographic with you that I found while surfing some pet sites this morning. It demonstrates how much Americans care for their furry (or feathered, or even scaly) friends by showing how much we spend on them each year, but notice at the bottom that dog owners live longer lives than people with no dogs. I thought that was interesting.

It’s nice to know that if you run into a sticky situation with your pet, help is just a visit to the app store away.

Here is an infographic featuring some of the best apps for pet lovers. One of my favorites is the iKibble app. Countless times while cooking in the kitchen, my dog likes to come around looking for handouts. While we do maintain a fairly rigid policy about not feeding table scraps, fresh foods that are healthy for the dog make excellent treats, but I wonder which foods are safe to give her. That’s where iKibble comes in handy. There, I can look up any food and see whether it might be toxic for dogs (like raisins, garlic, and chocolate are.) It was nice to know that baby carrots and raw broccoli were a-okay for my puppy pal. So, without further ado, here is the infographic.

It isn’t uncommon to see stray cats wandering around your neighborhood or hiding under your porch for safety, but what if they stay there for too long? Many times female felines need to find a safe spot to have their kittens and nurse them until they are strong enough to fend for themselves. That spot may end up being beneath your deck or in a crack under your shed and it is not an easy or safe task to try and get rid of them.

No matter what, you need to make sure that the kittens are not harmed or estranged from their mother. If the mother does disappear, which can happen occasionally if she abandons her kittens to move on and find food, it is important to give the babies what they need to survive. One of the most common misconceptions is that you should give kittens milk in a bowl as a substitute for their mothers’ milk. The milk that humans drink does have calcium and other vitamins that support healthy growth, but it is very different from the milk they are used to. That means that the milk you feed them can lead to stomach issues and digestion problems that put the kitten in danger. The best solution is to go to a pet store and find a formula that you can mix up that is made specifically for kittens because it has the proper balance for their health needs and will support growth properly.

Offering the kittens some tuna or cat food made specifically for kittens can also be beneficial as they grow and develop. You can put a bowl of food out for the kittens to share, but you need to be aware that there may be a kitten who is smaller and doesn’t get as much food as the others. If you notice this happening, attempt to lure this kitten from the others and provide it with a little food of its’ own. The runt of the litter can sometimes die naturally in the wild because it’s not strong enough to survive, but there is no need for this to happen if you are taking care of them. You must also carefully monitor how much food you give them and how often because, unless you plan on keeping the kittens forever, they will need to learn to fend for themselves eventually. You can slowly wean them off your food as they grow to encourage them to venture off and find their own food sources and learn to survive.

It’s pretty easy to find the right supplies at a pet store since they carry everything from kitten formula to dish packages that allow you to give both food and water. You may even find the newest pet for your family right outside your home!

If you’re looking for a type of watch that is not only very useful but also something in the stylish department, then all of you’re questions might be answered correctly in this article! When it comes to finding a stylish watch for men, it seems that there isn’t a lot of unique styles for many males to choose from. Fortunately, there are many places out there that will help in catering your particular style and fashionable needs. One of the best places to find a reasonably stylish watch is in a jewelry store and watch outlet. The reason for this suggestion is because if you’re planning on getting a brand spanking new watch for a pretty reasonable price then going into your local jewelry store may be your best bet. This approach will help you with comparing some of the latest jewelry in a small and more convenient space. As for shopping around in a watch outlet store, there’s a pretty good chance that you’ll also find a great array of men’s designer watches at an unbelievable and negotiable price without going out of your way to struggle with finding high-quality designer watches and breaking your bank account for it. Even if you may be struggling on making a solid decision there are employers that will be glad to give you helpful recommendations as well as getting a wonderful deal on the watch of your dreams.

If you’re more of an internet-savvy kind of person who either wants nothing to do with the outside world or wanting to avoid searching for that perfect watch in a headache of traffic, then there are many online stores that will also cater to your needs. For example, you can shop at blumlux.com. There are many benefits and signs of opportunity found with shopping online and watch shopping is no exception. If you are not familiar with certain brands of watches or even if you may not know what it is that you may want, you can simply browse through the listings of available watches with pictures attached to make your choices a bit more easier.

There are also many pawn shops that may also have what you’re looking for in comparison to a selected assortment of stylish watches for men. Many pawn shops will offer a huge array of watches for men that range from classic antiques to brand new watches that are not only attracted, but they also come with a great deal of cheap and affordable watches that maintain as much prestige and class as the designer watches that you can find anywhere else.
In conclusion, no matter which way you choose to shop around for your perfect match when it comes to watches, there are many ways to go about finding your dream watch in a clearance store or in an online shop where you will be able to conveniently shop at the comfort of your own home.
I guarantee that with these options, you’ll find the perfect watch of of your dreams without fail.

When you choose to travel with your dog, then you must be aware of all that you will need to take care of and do. Your furry friend is quite important to you, so do all that you can to keep him or her safe when out and about traveling. Like humans, dogs have to be taken care of when riding in an automobile so that they will not become injured or even be killed. Here are some tips to traveling safe in automobiles and some facts that may help you to decide how you will keep your pal safe on car rides.

The main priority when it comes to ensuring your dogs safety in a vehicle is to buckle him or her up. Yes, it may seem silly, but think of doggy seat belt like you would home security. Not mandatory, but it could prevent dangers from occurring. There are many states that enforce this as a requirement, and with good reason. When you and your family get into the car, you all buckle your safety belts, and this should be the case for you dog too. Immediately buckle him or her up to be as safe as possible. Just like humans, there are thousands of pets that become injured in collisions due to not having a seat belt on.

Accidents occur and often there is nothing we can do to prevent this from being the case, but we can attempt to keep all the passengers in the vehicle as safe as we can, and this includes pet passengers. Dogs can become flying projectile in the effect of an accident or sudden stop. This can hit you or another passenger, the dog can even hit the windshield. This is harmful to both you and your furry friend. There is also the possibility of an unrestrained dog running off after an accident.

Other advice to follow when it comes to dog safety in a vehicle is about pet safety primarily. You should never, at any point, for any reason leave your dog in your car. It does not matter if the weather outside happens to be hot, cold, or in between there is no reason that he or she should be left alone in the car. It has been proven that on a typical “nice day” an automobile which happens to be parked in the shade can climb to temperatures over one hundred and twenty degrees. Like humans, dogs can suffer from exhaustion and heat strokes, so don’t put your pal at risk.

When it comes to living green a lot of people are doing all that they know to do in order to contribute. People are trying to conserve and recycle, and even switching things in their home to more environmentally friendly choices. Light bulbs, appliances, and water conserving devices are typical things to think of when it comes to being eco-conscious in the home, but what about you pets? Are they green? You read correctly, there are all natural and environmentally friendly options for your pet as well.

Accessories. Collars, leashes, and harnesses made from hemp are the perfect start to your “green” pet initiative. You can find them in decorative and fashionable prints that will have your pet looking fabulous without being harmful to the environment. More great eco-friendly pet accessories are beds, blankets, and pillows for your furry friends that are made from recycled materials and hemp. When using recycled materials and hemp, the manufacturers are using easily renewable resources which is good for our planet indeed.

Toys. What furry pal doesn’t love his or her toys? When picking out some options for your pets, be sure to look for those are are kind to the earth. Hemp toys are very great options, as well as, those from recycled materials. If your dog is a fan of chewing, then recycled rubber can create the perfect chew toy all while being “green.”

Food and nutrition. Giving your pet the very best is something that you take pride in, so when considering a pet food, go natural and organic. This is not only helpful to your loving pet because it is better for him or her, but it is also just better for the environment all around. Organic treats are also good to have. For bathing, look for natural shampoos and conditioners without harsh and harmful chemicals that can cause more harm than good. There are also environmentally friendly options for ear washes, treatments, and supplements for your pet that can come in handy.

Check out these websites for more information on natural and earth-friendly pet products: earth dog and Only Natural Pet Store

No matter if you are the most environmentally aware person, or the type of person who leaves their direct hd tv on all day, you can help to reduce your and your pets impact on the environment just by making some simple changes. Another great way to go green with your pet is instead of driving to the dog park, find a place within walking distance to visit. Check back later for more green pet ideas.

After a violent storm with raging winds swept through our area, my husband, while walking our two dogs, came across to tiny birds that had been blown out of their nest it seemed. One looked very lethargic while the other was moving just a bit. They were so small that they could not walk or hop around, and they still had very few feathers. We decided it would be best to just let nature run its course and see what would happen. After about three hours, the baby birds were still there in our backyard with no mother bird around. Neither of us are familiar with caring for birds at all, so we definitely did not want to become involved, but we noticed that another large storm was heading our way. It took me a while to find some useful information on how to care for baby birds in an emergency, as most sites encourage you to just let them be. It is also illegal in the United States to possess birds, so I do not recommend “keeping” them, but I feel like caring for them is different. So, I compiled some fo the useful tips that I did find here, just in case.

First things first, you should ensure that the birds are warm. Holding it in your hand will quickly and effectively warm it up. Now, there are two common birds that you may come across, the house sparrow and the starling. If it is not one of these species, then it is illegal to have it, so that is a judgement call you will have to make.

You will need to provide a “nest” of sorts for the birds. A small container filled with tissue is a great option. Make sue that the container is quite small because the birds will require it for support for their small bodies. You can set a hot water bottle under the “nest” container to keep it warm. After the birds are safely in their container, there should be no other reason to handle them.

Feeding time is probably one of the most difficult parts, you can make a moist mixture of dog or cat food soaked in sugar water and baby cereal. It is time to feed the birds when their mouths gape. Push the food in the back of the mouth when it is wide open. During the day, the birds will need to be fed about every single 30 to 60 minutes. Don’t give the birds liquids.

Again, regardless of what popular cable tv shows says, it is illegal to hold a wild animal captive, I am not condoning taking care of a bird if you see it. In fact, I recommend you leave it be. But if you’re like me, then hopefully this may be of some help to you. The birds that my husband and I found are off flying around somewhere. They need not need us for very long. Wildlife Rehabilitation is probably your best bet if you do find baby birds though.
